Al Fabrizio grew up in New York City. His parents had immigrated from Abruzzi, and the family, whose members were musically gifted, kept alive the memories of the wonderful, melancholy old songs from Italy. Al began playing the oboe and the clarinet, then he adopted the mandolin as his instrument of choice.
Al plays the traditional Neapolitan mandolin. His music appeals to young and old with Italian and Neapolitan love songs and European dances. He plays in the “tremolo” style, which adds unusually warm expression and phrasing. His music creates an easy romantic listening mood which blends perfectly with candles, wine and pasta
